Achieving Management Certification in Branch, Parts, Service and Rental through AED University signifies a commitment to superior workplace performance on the part of both AED member dealers and their individual team members. Certification recognizes industry professionals for their completion of required position-related training, their skills and expertise, and job performance at an exemplary level.

Standards for AED Management Certification

GENERAL GUIDELINES
  1. Each hour of professional education = 0.1 CEUs. 1 full CEU is equal to 10 HRs of contact training.
  2. CEU credit is available for The AED Foundation?s self-study courses, web-based courses, and live-learning events.
  3. To confirm that courses and live-learning events achieve stated learning outcomes and to verify retention of professional education content, learners seeking CEU credit must complete both pre-course and post-course assessments for each course or live-learning event in which the learner participates.
  4. All pre-course assessments must be completed prior to the commencement of courses and live-learning events.
  5. Candidates for certification must complete post-course assessments within 90 days of course content or live-learning event completion.
  6. People Management 102 is required for all certifications to ensure that learners are exposed to the legal responsibilities of the supervisory role.
TRAINING VIA OTHER PROVIDER, OEM OR DEALER
  1. Professional education conducted through another provider outside of The AED Foundation must be verified by The AED Foundation?s Manager of Professional Education. Candidates must supply the following information for verification: provider's contact information, course outline/agenda and learning objectives, web address, and confirmed participation.
  2. Courses from OEM/Dealer specific to OEM/dealership Operations do not qualify for CEUs.
  3. No more than 1.6 (16 hrs) of the required CEUs from OEM/Dealer can be applied towards any one certification.
AED UNIVERSITY MANAGERS CONFERENCE AT AED?S ANNUAL MEETING AND CONDEX PARTICIPATION
  1. Participation in the AED University Managers Conference at AED?s Annual Meeting and CONDEX is validated via the attendee?s name tag. Name tags are scanned upon entry into each Managers Conference session.
  2. Candidates may only earn CEUs from programs conducted as part of the AED University Managers Conference and which specify that CEU credit is available.
LIVE-LEARNING EVENTS
  1. Most live-learning events are equal to 1.6 CEUs (16 hrs). The CEUs can be applied to multiple content areas within a certification program.
  2. The AED Foundation will provide a listing of live-learning events and how CEUs earned during these events can be distributed throughout each certification programs at the beginning of every calendar year.
