Course Description:
Financial Management 102: Introduction to Ratio Analysis for Non-Financial Managers uses an interactive Web-based interface to teach the fundamental elements ratio analysis in the context of a distributorship environment. This AED Foundation Web-based course will show non-financial managers who already know how to read and interpret financial statements how to use the values on these sheets to analyze the financial performance of individual departments and the dealership as a whole. Participants will use sample financial statements to perform calculations and interpret the performance of two fictional dealerships.
Upon completion of Financial Management 102, participants will be able to:
- Define and describe the function and purpose of the income statement, the balance sheet, and the cash flow statement with 100% accuracy
- Name each of the four major categories of financial ratios and describe the purposes of each with 100% accuracy
- Describe the two major ways to use financial ratios in business with 100% accuracy
- Match a given financial ratio to its definition when provided with a list of financial ratios and definitions
- Correctly calculate several profitability, asset utilization, liquidity, and solvency financial ratios when provided with sample dealership income statements and balance sheets:
- Analyze the value and implications to the dealership of several profitability, asset utilization, liquidity, and solvency financial ratios as calculated from sample dealership financial statements:

- Has never experienced a formal introduction to ratio analysis
