AED University Personal Development Plan
The Personal Development Plan program(PDP), developed by The AED Foundation, is designed to assist you with identifying the courses or seminars that will meet your manager's specific learning needs.
Whole companies have begun to utilize the PDP process to improve the performance of their management team. This is a free service to AED Members!
If you are completing this evaluation on your own, be advised that the best result will come from an honest assessment of your skills and performance in these basic areas. This tool was developed to assist supervisors and their employees in the process of determining what types of training will help the employee to improve performance in the areas that matter most. It is recommended this evaluation is completed by the supervisor and their employee together so that a positive communication link is established throughout the training process.
Basic Skills Assessment:
To complete this exercise you will be asked to evaluate the employee on 30 position-specific skills essential to the equipment distribution industry. These skills address areas of people management, customer management (sales), parts, service and rental management. Each of these skills is addressed by courses through AED University. Upon completion, you will be contacted by a representative of AED University. Then you will receive a report that includes:
- The employee's strengths and areas that need improvement
- Your statement of goals for the employee
- Job description highlighting specific skills important to their position or the position the employee is working to obtain
- Personal Development Plan through AED University
- Explanation of how the recommended courses address the employee's skills that need improvement
Please note: Personal Development Plans are valid for 90 days from the date of creation. Persons seeking to begin coursework on a Personal Development Plan older than 90 days must complete a new Basic Skills Assessment.
